#%!PD problems

by: Mark

A few months ago I bought a new 351PD. Right out of the box, it had problems. Before 1 day was out, it wouldn't cock. I took the grips off and found that one of the internal "lugs" on a grip panel had cracked and a chunk of wood had lodged in such a way as to prevent cocking. I took it back to the dealer and got new grips. The first time at the range with my wife and adult niece, we found that neither of the women--both experienced shooters--could fire the pistol double action--the pull was that bad. Back to the dealer, where we dete3rmined the double action pull was seventeen pounds!! His gunsmith did a little work on the mainspring and reduced it to about ten pounds. Now, it's working fine so I'd rate the pistol highly, but it should have been like this right out of the box. The heavy trigger pull wasn't isolated to my pistol alone--the dealers whole stock were similar.
