I had an opportunity to test out this weapon (Armccor $475.00) for 6 months as an evaluation for a friend. I also used a new Taurus 1911 ($589.00), and a new Smith & Wesson SW1911 (870.00). The Armscor was 3rd, and had some fit and finish issues, as well as some jams and misfires. The workman ship was not nearly as good as the others, and at the target was only fair in the groupings. The Taurus was next, and was well made, appeared to be finely crafted and made from quality materials. It shot right out of the box as if it were made for me. Very nice groupings, no misfires or jams. The finish was blued and perfect. The Smith, altho several hundred dollars more, was by far the best weapon. Supurb fit and finish, high quality feel, excellant groupings, perfect functioning action and fed every brand and type of .45 ammo perfectly. I have a 70's series Colt .45 1911 that was my duty weapon for years, and never let me down. Of these 3 firearms, I would not hesitate to carry the S&W 1911 as my weapon of choice, with Smith's lifetime warranty, and due to the quality of feel, the supurb craftsmanship and reliability. For a off duty sporting weapon, the Taurus is a great gun, well made and reliable, and at a great price, lifetime warranty. The Armscor was not in my opinion, reliable or well made enough to rely upon.
